Terms of service
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Draft — have a lawyer review before publication. These clauses must be adapted to your actual legal form, to whether you serve business or consumer clients, and to the terms you genuinely offer. Consumer clients resident in the EU or elsewhere may be entitled to protections under their own national law regardless of the choice of law below.
1. Subject matter
These terms govern the supply of an AI-only text translation service by Mila Ruana ("the Provider") to the client ("the Client") through the Provider's online platform.
2. Nature of the service
The Client acknowledges and agrees that the translation service is provided entirely through automated artificial intelligence systems. No human translator or editor reviews or edits the Client's text as part of the standard service. The Client is solely responsible for reviewing and, if desired, editing the translated text before downloading or otherwise relying on it — the platform provides the tools to do so at no additional charge.
3. Registration and free trial
- Creating an account is free and requires no payment details.
- Each account is entitled to translate up to 1,000 words at no cost, for evaluation purposes, once per Client.
- The Provider may refuse or limit the free trial in case of suspected abuse (for example, multiple accounts created by the same person).
4. Credits and payment
- Beyond the free trial, use of the service requires the purchase of credits, with a minimum purchase of €10.
- The price of each translation is calculated automatically, based on the word count of the submitted text, the tier selected (Standard, Premium or Best Seller), whether Batch mode is selected and whether the optional AI second pass is enabled (which adds 50% to the translation cost), using the progressive rates published on the Pricing page at the time of submission: each band of words in the text is charged at the rate of that band.
- Credits are deducted automatically as each block of the translation is completed.
- Credits do not expire for as long as the account remains active, but are non-refundable once consumed. Unused credit balances may be refunded within 14 days of purchase, less any amount already consumed, unless prohibited by applicable consumer law.
- Prices are exclusive of VAT and any other applicable tax, which will be added where required.
- Payment for credits is processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as Merchant of Record for the sale. As Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record: it processes the payment, collects and remits any applicable VAT or sales tax, and issues the corresponding receipt or invoice.
- The payment transaction is governed by Lemon Squeezy's own terms of service and privacy policy. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
5. Client obligations
- Supply the text in a readable format and ensure it does not infringe any applicable law.
- Warrant that it holds the rights necessary to have the text translated, and indemnify the Provider against third-party claims arising from the content submitted.
- Review the translated output before relying on it for any purpose, particularly where accuracy is critical (for example, legal, medical, or safety-related content).
6. Provider obligations
- Make the translation service available in accordance with these terms.
- Maintain the confidentiality of texts and information submitted, as described in the privacy policy.
- Not use Client texts to train any AI model, and delete them from its systems within the retention periods described in the privacy policy.
7. Delivery and review
Translation is processed in real time by default; typical processing per block is a matter of moments rather than hours. If Batch mode is selected, processing may take up to 24 hours, in exchange for a reduced price. The Provider does not guarantee a fixed delivery time in either mode, as processing speed can depend on factors outside its control, including third-party infrastructure availability.
The Client may review and edit any translated block within the platform before downloading; manual review is included in every tier. If the optional AI second pass is enabled, the Client may accept or reject each suggested change, and no suggestion is applied automatically. Once downloaded, the Client is responsible for the final use of the text.
8. Limitation of liability
Given the automated, AI-only nature of the service, the Provider does not warrant that translations will be free of errors, omissions, or stylistic imperfections. The Client is responsible for reviewing the output before relying on it. The Provider's liability for direct loss attributable to its own fault is limited to the amount of credits spent on the specific translation giving rise to the claim. Liability for indirect loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
For translations requiring sworn certification, legalisation, or use in a regulatory or safety-critical context, the Client is responsible for arranging any additional human certification required; the Provider's service alone is not represented as sufficient for such purposes.
9. Rights in the translated text
Upon full payment (or use of free-trial credit), the economic exploitation rights in the translation pass to the Client, to the extent they can be transferred under applicable law.
10. Account suspension and termination
Access is personal to the registered account holder. The Provider may suspend or terminate an account in case of fraud, abuse of the free trial, non-payment, or breach of these terms.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. The courts of Rome have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available under the law of the Client's country of residence.
12. Changes
These terms may be updated. Contracts already concluded remain governed by the version in force at the time of conclusion, except where a change is required by law.
