What we translate

Every kind of text has its own conventions. Register is not a finishing touch: it governs tense, punctuation, how dialogue is set and how terminology is handled, from the very first line.

Editorial work

Fiction and non-fiction

Novels

Narrative voice, each character's register in dialogue, the rhythm of the prose. Dialogue punctuation and tense follow the conventions of the target language, not those of the source.

Short fiction

The same care as a novel, with closer attention to every lexical choice: in short form each word carries twice the weight.

Non-fiction

Terminological precision and a sound line of argument. Quotations and bibliographic references are left intact.

Poetry

Rhythm, metre and figures of speech. Where form and letter cannot both survive, the model favours the poetic effect while keeping the core of the meaning — and you can always adjust it yourself afterwards.

Children's literature

Simple, musical register, with wordplay and cultural references adapted for the young reader in the target language.

Screenplays and theatre

Lines that hold up when read aloud, stage directions preserved, speech lengths compatible with performance.

Professional work

Technical, legal and commercial texts

Manuals

Imperative register, step numbering preserved, safety warnings kept prominent, and uniform terminology for components and controls.

Contracts and deeds

Literal fidelity, article and clause structure intact, close attention to false friends between legal systems.

Scientific papers

Standard disciplinary terminology. Units, formulas, symbols and notation remain untouched unless you ask otherwise.

Medical information

Recognised terminology with an accessible register. Dosages, active substances and units are never altered.

Marketing

Localisation rather than translation: slogans and wordplay are rebuilt to work in the target culture.

Subtitles

Condensed for quick reading, within the characters-per-line limits the medium requires.

Stay in control

Review and refine, on your own terms

Translation is the first step, not the last. Manual review is included in every tier: every block you receive can be checked and edited directly in your account, for as long as you like, before you download anything.

If you already hold a glossary of terms that must stay fixed, add it once: it will be honoured at every occurrence, across the whole volume, without you having to check each one by hand.

Side-by-side comparison

Every block appears next to its source text in your account, so you can catch omissions or mistranslations at your own pace.

Edit before you download

Rewrite any paragraph directly in the browser. Changes are saved automatically and reflected in every export format.

Glossary enforcement

Terms you lock in the glossary are honoured at every occurrence — no drift between chapter one and chapter twenty.

AI second pass, with reasons (optional)

Switch it on and a second AI review proposes better solutions for specific passages, explaining why each one is an improvement. You accept or reject every suggestion. It adds 50% to the translation cost.

Second opinion

The AI second pass, explained

Manual review stays yours and is included in every tier. The AI second pass is an optional extra for when you want the machine to look over its own work — and to show its reasoning.

What it looks for

An AI second pass compares the finished translation against the source and flags the passages where a different solution would be more accurate, more natural or better suited to the chosen register.

What you receive

For each passage: the current translation, the proposed alternative and a short explanation of why it is better. Nothing is replaced automatically — you accept or reject each suggestion, one by one.

What it costs

The second pass adds 50% to the translation cost, calculated after any Batch discount. Manual review remains included in every tier at no extra cost, whether or not the second pass is enabled.

You can enable the second pass on any tier when you upload a text. See the pricing page for the calculator, or try it on your first 1,000 free words.

Fourteen ready-made styles, or write your own

Pick the preset closest to your text and the model adjusts tense, punctuation and terminology accordingly. Nothing fits? Skip the presets entirely and write your own instructions instead.

Plus a fifteenth option, Custom: describe the register you want in your own words, and the model follows your instructions instead of a preset.

Combinations

Languages we work in

We work in direct pairs, without routing through English. That intermediate step is what flattens style and loses the nuance of the source language.

Don't see your pair? Ask us — this list covers the languages whose output we have verified, not the technical limit of the system.

Quality levels

Three levels, one standard of care

Every text runs through the same glossary, review desk and export formats, and manual review is included in every level. The level you choose sets how far the model goes in pursuit of literary nuance and register; the optional AI second pass can be added to any of them for +50%.

Standard

A strong balance of quality and speed. Suited to working drafts, large volumes or a first read of the content.

Premium

A model tuned for literary nuance and complex registers. Recommended when the final quality matters more than the last cent saved.

Best Seller

The highest quality level: the closest attention to style, register and nuance, the nearest thing to a professional editorial translation. Recommended for works intended for publication or a demanding readership. Rates are on the pricing page.
